Best Sales Engagement Platforms (2026): Top 9 Compared

Updated October 2026By StatWharf Editorial9 vendorsMethodology

The nine platforms here split into two pricing models. Outreach and Salesloft sell enterprise revenue platforms on quotes, with sales engagement as one module among forecasting, deals and conversation intelligence. The other seven publish prices. Apollo.io, Klenty, Outplay and lemlist charge per user or per seat; Instantly, Smartlead and Mailshake price each plan by sending volume, contacts or mailboxes rather than by user. Published entry prices run from $25 a month (Mailshake Starter on yearly billing) to $139 per user a month (Outplay Enterprise on annual billing).

These comparisons draw on public product information, not hands-on testing of every tool. Source records identify available references and checks; missing evidence is marked. Buyer fit is an editorial assessment, not a measured performance score. How to use this research.

Sales engagement platforms run outbound sequences. A rep or an automated workflow enrols prospects in a series of emails, calls, LinkedIn touches and text messages, and the platform sends each step on schedule, stops when a prospect replies and logs activity to the CRM. The market splits in three. Enterprise revenue platforms such as Outreach and Salesloft bundle sequences with forecasting, deal management and conversation intelligence. Cold email tools such as Instantly, Smartlead and Mailshake focus on sending volume, mailbox rotation and warm-up. A middle group, including Apollo.io, Klenty, lemlist and Outplay, adds dialers, LinkedIn steps or contact data to sequences at published prices.

This comparison covers nine platforms. Each vendor’s pricing and product pages were checked on 30 October 2026. Seven publish prices and two sell on quotes. Entries are not ranked.

Related pages cover AI sales assistant software, LinkedIn automation tools, auto dialer software and conversation intelligence software.

Vendor details and trade-offs

Outreach

enterpriseoutreach.ai ↗
Consider forLarger revenue teams of SDRs, account executives and sales leaders that want sequencing, conversation intelligence, deal management and forecasting from one vendor, as Outreach's pricing page describes
Pricing notesQuote-based. Outreach combines seat-based access with consumption-based AI credits. Packages include Amplify Essentials (10,000 AI credits), Amplify Core (25,000), Amplify Plus (50,000) and Amplify Pro (100,000); additional credit packs can be bought (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluatePricing blends per-seat licences with AI credits that are deducted per defined action, such as generating a personalized message

Outreach describes itself as an AI agent platform for revenue teams, and sales engagement is one part of a wider product that also covers pipeline management, deal management, conversation intelligence and forecasting. The domain moved from outreach.io to outreach.ai, and both the product and pricing pages now resolve there.

The sales engagement module covers multi-channel sequences, task prioritisation, templates and snippets, and sequences that handle several stakeholders in one thread. The feature page states that Outreach detects out-of-office replies and pauses sequences until the prospect returns, and that the built-in click-to-call dialer and meeting scheduler log activity automatically. It also lists A/B testing and team analytics.

Pricing is quote-based. The pricing page states that Outreach combines seat-based access with consumption-based AI credits, and credits are deducted per defined action. Four packages are listed. Amplify Essentials centres on conversation intelligence with 10,000 credits, Amplify Core on pipeline creation with 25,000, Amplify Plus adds deal and coaching agents with 50,000, and Amplify Pro adds forecasting with 100,000. Sequencing appears in Core, Plus and Pro. Buyers comparing quotes should ask how many credits typical sequencing and research tasks consume.

Potential strengths

  • Sequences, an integrated dialer, meeting scheduling, conversation intelligence and forecasting are sold as one platform
  • Out-of-office detection pauses active sequences until the prospect returns, according to the sales engagement page

Trade-offs

  • No list price is published; every package requires a sales conversation
  • AI credit consumption adds a usage-based cost that varies with how heavily the team uses agents

Salesloft

enterprisesalesloft.com ↗
Consider forEnterprise and mid-market sales teams that run multi-channel cadences and also want deal management, conversation intelligence and forecasting from the same vendor, as Salesloft's platform pages describe
Pricing notesQuote-based. The Salesloft pricing URL redirects to a demo request page and no list price is published (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateCadence, Deals, Rhythm, Conversation Intelligence and Clari Forecast are presented as products on one revenue platform

Salesloft's sales engagement product is Cadence, which the platform page describes as software to build and nurture pipeline. Salesloft now sells it as one product in a revenue platform that also includes Conversation Intelligence, Deals, Rhythm, Inspect, Analytics and Clari Forecast. After Salesloft and Clari combined, forecasting is sold under the Clari Forecast name inside the Salesloft platform, and the login menu has separate entries for Salesloft, Clari Forecast, Conversations, Drift and Groove.

The Cadence page describes multi-channel cadences with automation rules, templates and snippets, and a Buyer Identification Agent that finds leads. AI account agents research accounts, identify buyers and draft personalised emails. AI prioritises the most engaged contacts, and reps can sort steps by channel, time zone and account. Salesloft Meetings lets buyers book time from an email. The built-in dialer handles calls and texts, and teams can connect a third-party dialer instead. A mobile app runs cadence steps away from the desk.

The pricing URL redirects to a page for booking a sales call, and no list price is published. Buyers should establish which platform components, including Clari Forecast, are in scope before comparing quotes with Outreach.

Potential strengths

  • Cadence includes AI account agents that research accounts, identify buyers and draft emails, per the sales engagement page
  • Built-in dialer for calls and texts, with the option to connect a third-party dialer

Trade-offs

  • No published pricing; buyers must go through a sales conversation
  • Several legacy products keep separate logins, so buyers should confirm which components a contract covers

Apollo.io

smbapollo.io ↗
Consider forSales teams and founders that want to find contacts and run email sequences in the same tool rather than buying a data provider and an engagement platform separately, as Apollo's pricing page describes
Pricing notesFree plan with 2 sequences. Basic $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 billed monthly. Professional $79 annually or $99 monthly. Organization $119 per seat a month, annual only, minimum 3 seats (checked Oct 2026)
Feature to evaluateA contact and company database, unlimited sequences on paid plans, a dialer and deliverability tools are bundled with a credit allowance per seat

Apollo.io combines a B2B contact database with sales engagement. The site states access to 240 million contacts and 30 million companies and claims more than 600,000 companies use the product. Sequences, a dialer, lead and deal management, meeting scheduling and workflow automation sit on top of that data.

Prices on the pricing page load from Apollo's plan service and were read on 30 October 2026. The Free plan includes 2 sequences and 75 credits per seat a month. Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed annually or $65 monthly, with unlimited sequences, 2,500 credits per seat a month, CRM integrations, the deliverability suite and 5 automated workflows. Professional costs $79 annually or $99 monthly and adds A/Z testing, AI lead scoring, 4,000 credits a month and 4,000 minutes of call recording. Organization costs $119 per seat a month, is sold on annual terms only with a minimum of 3 seats, and includes 6,000 credits a month.

The FAQ states that credits are pooled across the team, granted at the start of each cycle and do not roll over. All seats must be on the same plan, so a team with mixed needs pays the higher tier for everyone.

Potential strengths

  • A free plan stays free with no time limit and includes 2 sequences
  • Paid plans add a deliverability suite with email warm-up and domain and mailbox purchasing

How to choose a vendor

Decide whether the team needs a revenue platform or an outbound tool

Outreach and Salesloft bundle sequences with forecasting, deal management and call analysis, and price the whole package on a quote. Instantly, Smartlead and Mailshake focus on sending cold email at volume from many mailboxes. Apollo.io, Klenty, Outplay and lemlist sit between the two, adding dialers, LinkedIn steps or a contact database to sequences. A team that already runs forecasting elsewhere may not need the enterprise bundle.

Check the billing unit before comparing headline prices

A per-user price and a per-workspace price are not comparable on their face. Klenty's Starter plan and lemlist's Email plan allow unlimited users; Instantly and Smartlead allow unlimited email accounts; Apollo.io, Outplay Growth and Klenty Growth charge for every seat. Buyers should price the plan for their actual headcount and sending volume.

Look at what is metered beyond the seat

Apollo.io grants credits per seat for data, warm-up and mailboxes, and they do not roll over. Outreach combines seats with AI credits consumed per action. Instantly and Smartlead cap monthly sends and uploaded contacts by tier. Klenty caps monthly contacts and emails on Starter and dialing minutes on higher tiers.

Confirm the channels the plan actually includes

Multichannel steps are often reserved for higher tiers. lemlist adds LinkedIn, SMS and calling only on its Multichannel plan, Mailshake adds the dialer on Sales Engagement, Klenty adds calling on Growth and Outplay limits Starter to email. Buyers who need phone or LinkedIn steps should price the tier that includes them.

Frequently asked questions

What is a sales engagement platform?

A sales engagement platform runs outbound sequences: scheduled emails, calls, LinkedIn touches and SMS sent to a list of prospects, with replies, tasks and results tracked in one place. Most connect to a CRM so activity is logged automatically. Enterprise products such as Outreach and Salesloft add forecasting, deal management and call analysis, while tools such as Instantly and Smartlead focus on sending cold email at volume.

How much does a sales engagement platform cost?

As of October 2026, seven of the nine vendors here publish prices. Mailshake starts at $25 a month on yearly billing, Smartlead at $32, Instantly at $37.60 and Outplay Starter at $39. Apollo.io Basic costs $49 per seat a month annually, Klenty Starter $50 a month annually and lemlist Email $55 a month yearly. Per-user tiers reach $139 a month at Outplay Enterprise. Outreach and Salesloft are quote-based.

What is the difference between a sales engagement platform and a cold email tool?

Cold email tools such as Instantly, Smartlead and Mailshake concentrate on deliverability: many sending mailboxes, warm-up, rotation and a shared inbox, usually priced by sending volume. Sales engagement platforms such as Outreach, Salesloft, Klenty and Outplay add calling, LinkedIn steps, CRM sync, rep task queues and team reporting, usually priced per user. The line has blurred as both groups add channels and AI features.

Which sales engagement platforms include a dialer?

Outreach and Salesloft include integrated dialers. Klenty includes calling from Growth and sells parallel and power dialing as an add-on. Apollo.io includes a US dialer with credits. Mailshake adds a power dialer on Sales Engagement, lemlist adds a built-in dialer on Multichannel, and Outplay lists click-to-dial on its Free plan, phone steps from Growth and a power dialer on Enterprise. Smartlead sells SmartDialer separately.

Do sales engagement platforms charge per user or per mailbox?

It varies. Apollo.io, Outplay Growth and Enterprise, and Klenty Growth and Plus charge per user or seat; lemlist Multichannel includes five senders per user. Klenty Starter and lemlist Email allow unlimited users. Instantly and Smartlead tier plans by sending volume and contacts and allow unlimited email accounts. Mailshake sets a number of email addresses per plan. Outreach combines seats with AI credits.

Which platforms include a B2B contact database?

Apollo.io bundles a database of 240 million contacts with its sequences and grants credits per seat. lemlist states a 650 million-lead database on its plans, with enrichment as a paid add-on. Instantly sells access to its 450 million-lead database as a separate credits plan or bundle. Smartlead, Klenty and Mailshake offer data credits or finder add-ons on some tiers.

Is Clari part of Salesloft?

Salesloft's site now presents Clari Forecast as one product in the Salesloft revenue platform alongside Cadence, Deals, Conversation Intelligence and Rhythm, and its login menu links to Clari Forecast, Conversations, Drift and Groove. Buyers evaluating Salesloft should confirm which of these products a quote includes.

How were these platforms selected and checked?

The page compares vendors that sell sequencing for outbound sales, from enterprise revenue platforms to cold email tools. Each vendor's pricing and product pages were read on 30 October 2026, and the profiles summarise what those pages state. No product was tested hands-on, and no vendor confirmed its entry. Order is not a ranking. Reply.io was not included because its site did not return pages to the check, so its pricing could not be confirmed.
